The Journey to 2022 Continues!

Our Bicentennial Planning Committee has chosen three words to describe the opportunity and gift that this milestone 200th birthday presents to our church and our community.

They invite us:

To REFLECT on the legacies we enjoy as gifts from previous generations of our congregation.

To REJOICE with our extended family as we gather to celebrate with special events during a year-long homecoming for our congregation.

To RENEW our commitment to build on the foundation that we have received.

In the first phase of our Bicentennial Capital Campaign we have raised received $731,362.84. As a strong statement of our church’s mission, we dedicated half of this first phase, more than $300,000 to provide Loaves and Fishes with a brand-new beautiful facility at 825 Crossland Avenue. First Presbyterian Church is also now reaping the benefits of a brand new HVAC system and other improvements in the education building.

Because of you, all of this was possible! We are grateful to you for fulfilling your promise and keeping your pledges to the Bicentennial Capital Campaign, Phase 1.

In the next phase of the Bicentennial Capital Campaign, Phase 2, we will continue to require your additional support as we attempt to raise another $600,000 for:

  1. Sanctuary Lighting Project – the need to replace and improve the lighting in the Sanctuary, a significant new project that requires major resources above and beyond our annual giving;
  2. Renovate Activities and Outreach Center so that we can start our new programs such as respite and recreation programs for persons with disabilities and older adults and expansion of our educational programs.
    1. Grace and Peace,
      Pastor Greg
