Our All-Church Family Camp at NaCoMe will be held Friday, September 5, through Sunday, September 7, 2008.  Activities include campfire devotionals plus indoor/outdoor recreational activities.  You have the opportunity to spend one night, the day or all weekend.  Meal and lodging costs are listed on registration forms in the vestibule, newsletter and on the Congregational Life bulletin board.  Maps and packing lists are also available.  The payment deadline is Sunday, August 24 or contact Neesa Farmer in the church office as soon as possible to make arrangements.

The Inquirers' Class/Seminar begins September 14 in the chapel.  This class invites those interested in joining, and those who are already members but who might like to be more deeply involved, to bring their questions about what it means to be a Presbyterian.  We will explore such topics as worship, faith, stewardship, service, and discipleship.  For more information contact Kris Hedstrom at 645-6551.

First Film Fest will begin on Tuesday, September 9.  Meet in the fellowship hall at 6:30 p.m. to watch "Big Fish", followed by a brief discussion.  This is a wonderful tale of a son reliving the stories and myths his father told him about himself.

New Church Directory photos will be taken September 16-20.  You can sign up today outside the church office or use a link on our website beginning Wednesday, August 27.  PLEASE have your photo made!  You are under no obligation to buy pictures and will receive a free 8 x 10 portrait.

The Young Adult Group (ages '20s to '40s) invites you to join them once a month for either a devotional or a meal in someone's home.  This is a great way to get to know others who are in this age range.  Contact The Banasiak's at rhb2227@hotmail.com.

The Preschool has a job opening for a part-time music teacher.  Pay is $9 per hour.  Contact Mary Linn Sadler, the director, in the preschool office at 645-6551.

We will be forming one or two Small Study Groups which will meet on Monday or Tuesday evenings during the school year.  Conversations will focus on scripture and prayer.  Contact Meg if you would like to participate, 645-6551.

The Sunday morning Worship Service can now be heard on the church website, www.fpcclarksville.org.  It can be accessed any time after Monday.

The Five parking spaces in front of the church are reserved for people with limited mobility.  The meters will be covered on Sundays.  If you are able to walk from the bank parking lots, please do so, and save these spaces for others.

Please assist the Historical Preservation Committee by bringing in newspaper articles (the whole page) on people in our congregation (announcements/weddings/obituaries) and leave them in the church office.  The committee is selling the Church Sesquicentennial Commemorative plates for $10 each.

Hospital Visitation - Remember to notify the church office if you have a family member or church friend in the hospital.  Federal law no longer allows that information to be available to clergy who visit the hospital.

Bus Drivers are needed.   Anyone interested in driving the church bus and getting their Commercial Driver's License should call the church office for details, 645-6551.
